The basic structure of Airtac
Due to the different purposes of using the Airtac, the structure of the Airtac is also diverse, but the single-rod double-acting Airtac is the most commonly used. The following takes the single-rod double-acting Airtac as an example to illustrate the basic structure of the Airtac.
The inner diameter of the cylinder represents the output force of Airtac. The piston must reciprocate smoothly in the cylinder, and the surface roughness of the inner surface of the cylinder should reach Ra0.8um. For steel tube cylinders, the inner surface should also be plated with hard chromium to reduce frictional resistance and wear and prevent corrosion. In addition to using high-carbon steel pipes, the cylinder barrel material is also made of high-strength aluminum alloy and brass. Some small-sized Airtacs use stainless steel pipes.
